The Artist
Hello! I’m Justin and my journey into leathercraft is deeply intertwined with a lifelong love for artistry. From childhood, I was always drawn to art, spending hours sketching and dreaming of a life immersed in creativity. This passion led me to pursue graphic design in college, but practical concerns about financial stability guided me to switch gears and earn a degree in finance.
My career took me down the path of sales, and I eventually found myself in medical device sales, specializing in spinal implants. Despite the success, COVID-19 brought a dramatic slowdown, and the commission-based nature of my work began to impact me financially. It was a wake-up call, prompting me to reconsider my career and return to my artistic roots.
Throughout college and the early years of my sales career, I worked nights as a bartender—a role that would, again, support me while fueling my creative interests. As I faced the financial strains of Covid, I decided to leave the corporate world behind and return to what I truly loved: art. With a renewed focus, I combined my artistic skills with my love for hands-on work, diving into the world of leathercraft.
I immersed myself in the craft, learning to create everything from holsters and belts to wallets and center consoles—anything that sparked my interest. As my skills grew, so did my passion, leading me to the realization that leathercraft was more than just a hobby; it was my true calling. Now, I’m dedicated to crafting leather pieces that aren’t just functional but are meticulously designed to become lasting works of art—pieces that tell a story, embody your personal style, and stand the test of time.
I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to my wife. Without her unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in my dreams, this journey wouldn’t have been possible. She has been my rock, and I’m endlessly thankful for her love and partnership.
Fun Fact: My company, Night Owl, was named after my late-night creative bursts. After working long hours, I often found my most inspiring moments came when I got home around 2 or 3 in the morning. Those quiet, moonlit hours became the perfect backdrop for my creativity to thrive.

All of my items are meticulously handmade, so the time required to complete your piece can vary depending on the intricacy of the design. I always strive to provide the most accurate estimated time of completion when quoting. Currently, lead times are approximately 8-12 weeks.
How much do your pieces cost?
The cost of each piece is determined by the time it takes to build and the materials used. I calculate the total price based on both labor and material costs, ensuring that every item is priced fairly for the craftsmanship involved. Can I request something other than floral tooling?
Absolutely! I’m happy to work with you to bring your envisioned design to life. Can you make anything other than wallets, belts, or holsters?

Do I need to place a deposit?
Yes, a $200 deposit is required to begin your project. Please note that deposits are non-refundable.
Can you accommodate optics, lights, and lasers in your holsters?
Yes, in some cases I can accommodate optics, lights, and lasers. However, it’s often difficult to find a replica that matches your specific setup. If you’re local and can temporarily bring your pistol to me during the build process, I can ensure a custom fit for your holster.
